Norwegian PM arrives in Capital

ISLAMABAD—Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg of Norway arrived here on a three-day visit to Pakistan to hold bilateral talks and promote Pak-Norway relations. He was received at the airport by Minister in waiting Ghaus Buksh Mehr, Ambassador of Norway in Pakistan Janis Bjorn Kanavin, Pakistan Ambassador to Norway Shahbaz and other high officials. The official welcome ceremony will be held on Tuesday afternoon at the Prime Minister House, where he will hold bilateral talks with Prime Miniter Shaukat Aziz.
Talking to newsmen briefly at the airport, the Prime Minister of Norway Jens Stoltenberg said, “I will discuss bilateral relations and promote relations between the two countries”. He said a large number of Pakistanis are living in Norway and playing very active role in its economy. The Prime Minister Jens said he would also visit earthquake hit areas and added that Norway has contributed to Pakistan’s relief efforts in these affected areas. He said, “Norway is supporting Pakistan as much it can”. Leading a 24 member high-level delegation, it is the first ever official visit from either side at the level of Prime Minister.
