ISLAMABAD—Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Anisa Zeb Tahirkheli has called for increased horticulture and floriculture activities, as love for flowers and gardens was a characteristic of civilized and peaceful nations.
"Flowers represent the colors and culture of a society and nations who love flowers are always considered civilized and peaceful societies in the comity of nations," she observed.
Anisa Zeb was addressing the prize distribution ceremony of a three-day 24th Annual Chrysanthemum and Autumn Flower Show here at Jasmine Garden on Sunday. This year's autumn season's flower show, organized by Islamabad Horticulture Society was dedicated to the victims of October 8 devastating earthquake.
"We will not be able to forget the huge devastation and loss of precious human lives caused by the October 8 natural calamity for years and decades to come."
But life is always set to go on and these colorful flowers, which also represent the beauty of nature may help console the grim faces of those who suffered from the unprecedented tragedy," Anisa Zeb remarked.
