Farida Bahanji arrested at LoC

SRINAGAR—Indian troops arrested Farida Bahanji, chairperson Jammu and Kashmir Mass Movement and her delegation while crossing Line of Control at Uri Chakothi sector on Friday besides impounding six trucks loaded with relief goods the JKMM delegation was taking with them for quake affectees of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Online learnt that a top level delegation of headed by chairperson JKMM Farida Bahanji and comprising of Chairman, Mohammad Salim Zargar, Secretary Gen Maulvi Bashir, Mairajuddin Wani and Mairajuddin Zargar left for Chakothi from Srinagar and on their arrival at Uri sector all six members of the delegation were arrested with six trucks full of relief goods.
Meanwhile Mass Movement spokesman has condemned the arrest of Farida Bahanji and other members of her delegation and termed it as worse form of human rights abuse and violation of democratic norms. He said people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir are in dire need of relief goods and Mass Movement was trying the mitigate their grievances by providing them relief assistance.
