BOMBAY—‘Kalyug’ is the first Indian film showing the under the rug world of porn movies with hidden camera and throws light on the darker side of the pornographic industry. Directed by Mohit Suri who debuted with the ‘Zeher’, this is his consecutive film with the Bhatt camp. In the female lead will feature Deepal Shaw. She is about to create history by acting as an Adult movie star. Be ready for lots of surprise when she mimics what an Adult Entertainer provides in a real Blue Film. Deepal Shaw shot into limelight posing as a schoolgirl in the video ‘Kabhie Aar Kabhie Paar’ and tasted overnight fame. This is her first Bollywood venture, where she transforms from a schoolgirl to an adult entertainer. Deepal has also bagged a Hollywood film against her name. She is heading forward and she is heading fast!
Excerpts from the Interview: Tell us about your debut film ‘Kalyug’. ‘Kalyug’ is about porn racket and comes down upon the pornographic industry heavily. There is so much porn happening around us, used as a mode of entertainment.
There’s so much nudity involved for the sake of ‘entertainment’. But pornography shouldn’t be encouraged, as it is a threat to our culture. It can bring woes to people, making their life tumble down like it happens to the protagonist of the film. ‘Kalyug’ is in brief a voice against the catching trend of pornography in our life.
Is it based on a real life story or is mere fiction?
The film fictionalizes facts and so it is real. It is inspired from the incidents around us, however the film hasn’t tried to hurt anybody’s sentiment by projecting their real life tale on the screen.
What is the role that you play in the film?
I play a woman who is exploited and ultimately becomes a porn actor. But there is heart inside her body. Kunal the hero of the film is the victim of a pornographic racket and his wife commits suicide due to the humiliation. Before meeting him I used to think that I’m only the victim of pornography, but after that my views changes. I sympathize with him for the situation he is in and help him in fighting pornography. It was a difficult role and it was not easy to play the character.
