Installation of CCTVs in mosques rejected

ISLAMABAD—Rejecting the installation of close circuit TV cameras in mosques and Imambargahs, Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal and Jamaat-e-Ahl-e-Sunnah have vowed not to let government take this step and put up a strong resistance. They also gave a countrywide protest call over for today (Friday) to what they called the unjustified arrests of Ulema.
Addressing a crowded press conference MNA Mian Aslam, Maulana Qazi Abdul Rasheed, Maulana Nazir Farooqi, Maulana Ayaz Abbasi, Maulana Zahoor Alvi here on Thursday rejected the proposal of interior minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao who on Wednesday announced that government wants to ensure safety of mosques and imambargahs all around the country therefore security cameras will be installed in all holy places.
However MMA did not like the proposal and announced strong protest over the matter. They also gave a country wide protest call today (Friday) against the arrest of Ulema Karam all over the country. They have termed these arrests as unjustified. They said the arrest of Qari Sohail Abbasi from Bhara Koh (Islamabad) was based on false case.—Online
