22 matches decided in Federal Cup tennis

ISLAMABAD—Some 22 matches were decided on the opening day of qualifying round of 22nd Federal Cup Tennis Championships at Islamabad Club clay courts on Monday.
The MCB-sponsored event was formally inaugurated by the President Islamabad Tennis Association (ITA) Syed Hasan Iqtidar Shah. The matches of qualifying rounds of Men’s singles, Boys’ Under-17 Singles and Boys’ Under-13 Singles (Main Round) were played on the opening day as national players turned towards Federal Capital on the conclusion of National Grass Court Championships in Lahore. Addressing the opening ceremony, ITA president Syed Hassan Iqtidar Shah said his organization was striving for the success of the tournament. The secretary ITA Muhammad Khalil, Tournament Referee Muhammad Arif Qureshi, Referee and other officials were also present at the opening ceremony.
