ZTBL establishes 25 zonal offices

ISLAMABAD—The Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) has decided to abolish all its 49 regional offices throughout the country and subsequently to establish as many as 25 Zonal offices.
Spokesman of the bank in exclusive chat with Online Monday said that the decision has been taken on the directives of President ZTBL, Rashid Akhtar Chugtai aimed at restructuring of the bank.
The spokesman said that after the abolishment of the regional offices, atleast 25 zonal offices have been established adding that these zonal offices have enormous authority of issues related to appointment, transfers, financial, Operation and receiving and issuing of loans of the bank. He said that out of 25 zonal offices, 12 established in Punjab, 4 in NWFP, 6 in Sindh and 3 in Balochistan. The spokesman added that 15 Zonal Office are declared as Large Zone and Senior Vice President will be the head of Large Zone while other 10 zones are named as Small Zone and Vice President will head these zones. The posts of Manager, Deputy Manager and Assistant Manager have been added. The post of Regional Manage has also been abolished and the head office of the bank only deal with the policy matters.
The 12 zonal offices established in Punjab included in Islamabad, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Sahiwal, Vehari, Multan, Muzaffargarh, DG Khan, Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan. In Sindh zonal offices would be established in the cities of Karachi, Hyderabad, Nawab Shah, Sukkar, Larkana and Mirpur Khas. Zonal Offices in NWFP would be setup in Peshawar, Mingora, Abbotabad and Dera Ismail Khan while in Balochistan Quetta, Turbat and Dera Murad Jamali have been selected for the establishment of zonal offices.
The spokesman said that there would be no change made in the number of banks and it would remain 343. The main objectives of these steps is to run the bank on commercial basis, to eradicate corruption, improvement in governance and to provide maximum facilities to farmers, he added.
