Pak, Nigeria vow to improve trade ties

VALLETTA—The Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo met Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz in Maltese capital Valletta Sunday.
Both leaders on the occasion discuss bilateral relations between the two countries, promotion of trade and enhance the cooperation in other multifaceted issues.
The Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has said that by promoting trade links, the relations between the two countries can improve significantly.
The Nigerian President while talking to Mr. Shaukat Aziz expressed his deep sorrow and grief over the tragic loss of lives and destruction rendered by the October 8th earthquake.
He praised the spirit of Pakistani nation showed in the post-earthquake situation. Nigeria and all the commonwealth countries are standby Pakistan in their difficult time, he added.
Both the leaders discussed bilateral relations, trade ties and regional situation and agreed to enhance trade, economic and commercial relations and exchange of delegations to promote bilateral ties.
The Nigerian President, who was out-going Chairman of CHOGM, welcomed Pakistan’s participation in the Commonwealth meeting after a gap of six years. He said it has been recognition of democratic system revived in Pakistan.—Agencies
