NEW YORK—Britney Spears’ firstborn makes his debut in photos in the new issue of People, due out Friday. The newborn shares his first national publicity with mother Spears, who doesn’t necessarily need the exposure, and father Kevin Federline, who’s apparently going to need all the help he can get on the rap promotion front. The cover shot shows the baby—that would be Sean Preston—snuggled in a blue-and-white blanket, and clutched tightly by a smiling Spears, while Federline, as is his way, looks on.
According to the Associated Press, the photos are from a month-old session compromised by a mole or moles in October. At first sign of the poses on the Internet, Spears’ camp swung into action, threatening legal action, and forcing sites to remove the allegedly purloined pictures. At the time, the paper said Spears had nixed the deal out of concern that she was “selling out her baby.”
