Premier assures all-out support for FATA uplift

ISLAMABAD—Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has said that FATA has always contributed to the solidarity of the country and government will continue to provide all resources required for the development of the area.
He observed this while talking to a delegation of National Assembly members from FATA on Wednesday who called on him at the PM House and discussed the development schemes for their respective constituencies.
During the meeting, the PM assured the members of the delegation of the full support of the government. The PM noted that the public of FATA has always contributed to the solidarity of the country and the public representatives of FATA have played a positive role in the development of their respective areas.
The PM said government is paying special attention to the development of FATA with main focus on provision of the facilities of health and education. The other thrust area of the government is to provide more job opportunities in the area to expedite the economic uplift of the area, added the PM.
Meanwhile, a delegation of the Contractors Association also met PM and informed that All Pakistan Contractors Association will build a 100-bed hospital in one of the earth quake hit areas of AJK. The PM appreciated the gesture of the Contractors Association.
He asked Chairman ERRA to help identify the exact location of the hospital. The Prime Minister said as the government of UAE and PFIZER have also shown willingness to set up one hospital each in the earth-quake affected areas, the ERRA will coordinate and identify the exact location to each one of them, so that all affected areas get health facilities.
Federal Minister for Communications and Chairman ERRA also attended the meeting. Motorway police also donated an amount of RS 3.5 million for the President Relief Fund.
A cheque to this amount was Wednesday handed over to PM by Ahmad Nasim, Inspector General Motorway Police. Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz appreciated the performance of Motorway Police. He added that Motorway Police has performed its role in an efficient and exemplary manner. It has set up many examples which should be followed by other departments.
