PIMA active in treating quake victims

ISLAMABAD—The Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (PIMA) has successfully treated 13 patients, who had developed severe wounds and fractures during the earthquake of 8th October and has sent them back to their homes. PIMA carried out this operation with the collaboration of Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) and immediately managed to send these severely wounded earthquake victims to Karachi to save their precious lives.
“Besides normal day to day relief operations at quake stricken area of NWFP and AK, we are sending seriously ill patients to other cities for required medical facilities”, Prof. Mohammad Tariq, President of PIMA said and reiterated that our medical teams in the effected areas will keep on their presence till they are needed. Our field hospitals, which had been shifted to containers due to harsh weather in quake-hit areas, have treated thousands of survivors and operated on hundreds over the past six weeks, he added.—Online
