FAISALABAD—Jubilant skipper Inzimam-ul-Haq has forecast another win while England skipper vows to take risk despite his healing injury in the second test scheduled on Sunday in the 18,000 capacity Iqbal Stadium where special children, college students and veterans will get free entry.
Talking to newsmen Inziman said that the team is in high morale after the first test victory and forecast another triumph.
He said that the young players proved their skills in every department of the game, adding that in such high esteem matches a little mistake could keep away team from the set goal.
“We should think over mistakes as well in order to heal them as quickly as possible”, he said.
Inzimam accepted that Danish Kaniria proved himself as a triumph card. He took some crucial wickets in crucial situations while Sohaib Akhtar and Sami turned the whole complexion by delivering the ball in perfect line as a result they took wickets to get spectacular victory.
It was a team effort and everyone played his role, he added. As a captain, “I am fully satisfied with the overall performance of my team, the happy skipper added.
“It would be a good match if Michael Vaughan will join the team”, he said. About the reported action of Sohaib Malik and Shabir, he said, “Certainly we are worried about such reports and it will disturb the team morale overall but let see, Inshallah the things will be in right direction”.
Michael Vaughan, who skipped the first test due to his knee injury gearing up for the crucial fixture and expressed that he would lead the team against Inzimam XI.
He said, “I hope to lead but it will only be decided on Saturday”, he added.
Michael Vaughan had also missed the whole series when Nasser Hossain-led England toured to Pakistan in 2000 but he (Vaughan) failed to make a place in the side as a middle order batsman. Thus he backed to home without playing a single ball.
Vaughan-led team held a practice session for almost three and half hour under tight security belt. Vaughan, who received right knee injury during a warm up match at Lahore, fully participated in the bating session and faced every bowler.
England Coach Duncon Flether in a press conference Friday hoped that Michael Vaughan will take the decision of playing by his own. “If he feels fit, he will lead the team” he added. About the decision of the team he said, it would decide on Saturday after inspection of the pitch.
He said that Marcus Trescothick is not going back and will remain with the team. Tight security observed in and out side the Stadium with the installation of security cameras.
