Bush promises generous aid for rebuilding

ISLAMABAD—US President George Bush on Thursday telephoned President General Pervez Musharraf and discussed with him the present situation of affected areas after October 8 killer earthquake.
Sources of Foreign Ministry and Aiwan-e-Saddar confirmed the telephonic conversation between President George Bush and President General Pervez Musharraf.
They said that both leaders discussed issues of bilateral interests, regional and world issues besides reconstruction and rehabilitation of affectees after the natural disaster that has taken the entire world by surprise.
President Bush expressed his heartfelt sympathies with the affectees and said that US will not leave Pakistan in this critical juncture.
US will provide more assistance to Pakistan, he said.
He also lauded the opening of points at LoC underling that it will further improve relations between Pakistan and India and differences can be sorted out.
On the other hand, President Musharraf thanked the US President for his kind gesture towards the people of Pakistan and the support of US for affectees will further enhance both countries relations. He informed the US president regarding the preparations of Donor Conference adding that the response of entire world is worth-mentioning. He further added that Pakistan and USA would continue their cooperation to wipe out terrorism of any kind.
