NATO troops to return after 90 days: Rashid

RAWALPINDI—Information Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad has described the apprehensions voiced by the opposition about NATO forces as unfounded and made it clear that they have come to join relief efforts and will return after 90 days on completion of work.
“NATO troops will return after ninety days on completion of work. A few hundred people can do relief work only and nothing else” he said this while talking to the journalists after presiding over a meeting in the office of the District Nazim here Monday.
Responding to a question federal minister said SAARC has entered third decade. It will produce fruits in the future, he added. He went on to say that ambiguities between Pakistan and India are subsiding. However these have not come to end.
He told that India has neither notified to us incident of Red Fort nor has Indian government informed us about this event. Pakistan is ready to extend full cooperation if Indian agency wants to share information.
India is well aware of the fact that Pakistan has extended hand of friendship sincerely, he observed. However Kashmir is at the center of relations. It is imperative that Kashmir problem is sorted out.
Responding to a question from Online he said that relief aid is flowing in from the foreign countries. However November 19 donors conference will be of paramount significance wherein relief aid target will be achieved. To another question he said that aid coming from within and out side the country is meant for quake victims. No transportation charges are being recovered for bringing relief goods to Pakistan. However government relief commission is functioning to make arrangements for transportation of relief material due to non availability of flights.
He held that US was extending full help to Pakistan ever since the quake hit its parts. Earlier the federal minister chaired a meeting in the office of district Nazim. Besides Raja Javed Ikhlas, district Nazim Rawalpindi, DPO, Nazmeens of all towns, president chambers of commerce and people from cross section of society attended the meeting.
Addressing the meeting Sheik Rashid Ahmad told that he had donated Rs 8 Lakh to Presidential relief fund, Raja Javed Ikhlas, Rs 5 Lakh, president PML, Rawalpindi city, Nasir Raja, Rs 5 Lakh, Nazim Potohar town, Hamid Nawaz Raja, Rs 5 Lakh, Chairman safety commission Rs 10 lakh and parliamentary secretary for Punjab, Raja Rashid Hafeez has announced to contribute Rs 5 Lakh to the fund. People from all segments of society even push cart vendor has cooperated in Jholi Phaialo campaign.
He underlined that he does not believe in politics of personal likes and dislikes. “ I did not cast my vote despite the fact that I remained member of bar.”
