Zobaida calls for more rehabilitation centres for quake affectees

ISLAMABAD—Federal Minister for Social Welfare and Special Education, Zobaida Jalal Monday said Ministry of Social Welfare and Speical Education will set up more rehabilitation centres aimed at providing relief, education and healthcare facilities to the victims of earthquake.
During her visit at National Institute of SpecialEducation (NISE), she said the Ministry’s top priority is to accommodate and rehabilate the earthquake victims specially children. Director NISE., Shabbir Nawaz, Senior Executive Vice President Habib Bank Ltd. (HBL), Zafar Aziz Usmani, Senior Vice President, Dr. Razi and Secretary General Officers Federation, M.A. Saeed were also present on the occasion.
The Minister added that the government is looking for employment opportunities for destitute people and focusing on their rehabilitation after treatment. Zobaida Jalal said, “We have also appointed psychologists to treat mentally disturbed children. We are keen to bring the affected persons into the national mainstream”.
Earlier, Zobaida Jalal along with the delegation of Habib Bank Ltd. visited the relief centre and inquired after the health of children. They also distributed gift packages including warm clothes among children.
Shabbir Nawaz also briefed the delegation about the on-going relief operation of Social Welfare and Special Education Ministry. Later, Senior Executive Vice President HBL, Zafar Aziz Usmani also hailed the efforts of concerned Ministry and assured all possible assistance for providing relief to the affected people.
