Anti-India demos in Handwara, Uri

SRINAGAR—In occupied Kashmir, a large number of people staged a forceful protest demonstration in Handwara area of Kupwara district against Indian state-terrorism.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the agitated protestors, raising full-throated anti-India and pro-liberation slogans, told media persons that troops of 30 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) camped at Haral locality of Handwara, took one Muhammad Ashraf Malik into custody without any rhyme or reason and subjected him to severe physical and mental torture.
The angry protestors blocked Handwara-Naugam Highway, disrupting traffic for several hours. The demonstrators demanded immediate shifting of military camp from the area.
The residents of quake-ravaged Uri town of Baramula district took to streets in protest against severe thrashing of a civilian by troops.
Meanwhile, public and private transporters in Awantipora area of Pulwama district have become a victim of Indian army’s brutalities. The affected people of the area told media persons that troops travelling in military trucks throw stones on private vehicles on Srinagar-Jammu highway.
They said, it has become impossible for the people to travel in their cars through the highway. They said that troops use abusive language with commuters.—APP
