Flour mills’ Wheat quota raised

ISLAMABAD—Federal government has increases wheat quota for flour mills from 10,000 to 10750 per ton and also directed charging fixed prices Rs250 per 20 kg in the market.
The government has warned to take strict action against those who charged higher prices than Rs250. Sources said that government took notice of higher prices of flour bag in open market and directed the flour mills to ensure the prescribed prices of Rs250 of 20 kg flour bag.
The flour mills were asked to take proper step to bring down the flour prices in the open market.
The government has also prepared a strategy to deal sternly with those who create artificial shortage and hoarding of flour in the market.
According to the planning, the government has asked the local administration to take strict action against hoarders. The flour mills were asked to ensure the availability of flour across the country.
Sources said that due to increase in wheat quota for flour mills and availability of wheat in the market would bring down the prices to prescribe level of Rs250.—INP
