Opening of third LoC crossing put off

SRINAGAR—India has postponed opening of the third crossing point at the Line of Control till Saturday. Third crossing point across the LoC for relief to the quake victims in Kashmir was scheduled to open today at Titwal but according to the Indian officials the opening was postponed as Pakistan military has not completed the border bridge at the point and it will start operating now on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Pakistan military spokesman Maj. General Shaukat Sultan has said the bridge construction was completed. He said India’s inflexible attitude creating frustration among the people. Pakistan and Indian officials were agreed for opening of the Line of Control at five points on November 7 and the two sides have opened two crossing points at the LoC till now.
The Chairman of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has said that withdrawal of Indian troops from Jammu and Kashmir is the effective way to safeguard nearly two-year-old peace process from derailing or getting deadlocked.
