Alliance Francaise set to take masses on Mysterious Voyage tomorrow
Staff Report

ISLAMABAD—Alliance Francaise is holding Wednesday evening a theatrical concert 'The Mysterious Voyage' created and directed by Jean Claude Meurisse with Joel Robine and Charlie Venturini. This concert is part of the International Tour 'Bon Baisers de Jules Verne' ('With Love from Jules Verne') which commemorates the centenary death anniversary of Jules Verne. The concert will take place at the Islamabad Club Auditorium on Wednesday 9th November at 7.30pm. In order to commemorate the centenary of the death of Jules Verne, three French artists decided to embark upon an adventure … la Jules Verne. Their travels around the world through the Alliances
Francaise network have enabled students to enjoy various activities; they have benefitted from theater workshops, participated in a creative writing competition, viewed photo exhibitions and experienced adventure through a travel diary maintained on a website.
The theme that ties together all these activities is 'Voyages and Love'. The musical show 'The Mysterious Voyage' is a veritable adventure music: from ballads to jazz, to boogie, to rock and classical airs, all passing through traditional a capella music. Jules Verne's writing is certainly an adventure in geography, but it also reveals the personalities and mysterious inner lives of his characters.
The songs are preceded by texts that introduce them. This show will interest adults and children alike. Jean-Claude Meurisse, composer will perform on the piano and, through song, will bring to life the voyage through love and time. Charly Venturini, actor and director will be responsible for lighting effects and the reading of some passages.
