Shujaat calls to shun differences, support govt in relief efforts

ISLAMABAD—The Government is working day and night for rehabilitation of earthquake victims and after a historic calamity we have started a new journey with full determination and courage to cover it.
These views were expressed by President Pakistan Muslim League and former Prime Minister Ch. Shujat Hussain here on Wednesday at a field hospital set up by owners of Melody cinema. Party secretary-general Mushahid Hussain Syed, Yaqut Jamil, Imtiaz Ranjha and Mehmood Hashmi were present on the occasion. Ch. Shujat Hussain inquired about the health of injured children and women and appraised their courage and patience.
He said the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the affected areas would take a long time. He further said the whole of the nation had showunprecedented unity and the spirit, sympathy and enthusiasm of the peoples was laudable. Ch. Shujat Hussain said the way Pakistani nation and the army helped the quake victims was un-forgettable.
The top PML leader also appealed to the political parties to shun all their differences and support efforts of the government for rehabilitation and reconstruction.
Meanwhile Ch. Shujat Hussain also visited tent villages near Havalian and Abbottabad set up by Lines Club International for the affected people of Mansehra and Balakot and went on to add the tent villages were being set up gradually. He said PML was doing every effort for rehabilitation of quake affected people. District Governor Lines Club International Amin Gul had sent 30000 USD for setting up tent villages whereas after Eidul Fitr one more tent village would be set up. In one tent village 2000 people have been provided all necessary facilities. Ch. Shujat Hussain said the spirit of overseas Pakistani to help rehabilitation and reconstruction was appreciable.
He also appreciated the services of Chairperson of Relief Committee of Lines Club Neelofar Bakhtiar and said the PML would fully cooperate with the strategy chalked out President General Pervez Musharraf. He called upon the youth to make success of the movement of volunteers adding the plan of Chief Minister Punjab Ch. Pervez Elahi ‘adopt one family’ would also succeed accordingly as the people were giving donations for it.
