Cuba expresses solidarity with quake survivors

ISLAMABAD—The first Deputy Minister for foreign affairs Bruno Rodriguez Parrila called on Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz in his office Thursday and conveyed a message of solidarity and sympathy from the government and people of Cuba.
The prime minister thanked the government and people of Cuba for providing prompt assistance. He said the earthquake was a major human
tragedy, which required not only caring about the physical damages, but also the psychological traumas. He said the government is taking due care of this aspect as well and a national service for the psychological counseling of traumatized persons has been started and a task force has also been setup for the implementation of the programme. The prime minister appreciated the international community for responding so swiftly to the needs of Pakistan and said so far 65 countries have their presence here.—Online
