Civil defense training to be made mandatory for students

ISLAMABAD—National Assembly (NA) on Tuesday unanimously passed a resolution for making civil defense training mandatory for students of all classes for a period of three months for dealing with natural disasters.
The resolution was presented by Ruling Party Lawmaker Asia Azeem in NA on Tuesday. Prior to this Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Sher Afghan Niazi also presented a resolution.
It was further told in the resolution that a three month rescue training is mandatory for all students of education institutions to overcome such natural disasters which can be devastating as seen on October 8, one of the worst in the history of Pakistan.
Moreover, it was told that government would issue a certificate and the students taking the course would be given ten additional marks in their course of regular studies. The resolution has been passed in this regard.
