Quake survivors bracing for Eid!

ISLAMABAD—They might’ve lost their loved ones, their fingers might be in a cast and not free to remove their tears, they might still be fighting to remain alive, but they definitely have life in them and thumping hearts craving for celebration. The Capitaliites might’ve forgotten their Eid celebrations this time around but the earthquake survivor kids remain in their respective hospitals and camps, waiting for their Eidee…!
There used to be an excitement all around whenever the small Eid or Eid-ul-Fitr approached as where the big Eid or Eid-ul-Azha is associated with the sacrifice and elders, there the small Eid has a traditional Eidee touch that’s just for the kids, as it goes. Young girls too, usually, decorate their hands in mehndi while exchanging coloured bangles as gifts, with peers. But this time around, the young gals are totally forgotten that they have to go shopping too. In fact everyone’s solemn while their minds are busy in thinking up of ways to cheer the quake survivors up!
Thus a visit to various camps of the Capital reveals that the Capitaliites have decided to celebrate this Eid in a distinct manner; in fact with the earthquake survivors. Young gals are seen busy in putting mehndi on the palms of not anyone but their newfound brave mates that have survived the earthquake disaster while volunteer students are busy in either adorning the walls of the quake victims’ rooms with confetti and ribbons or distributing balloons and disseminating smiles on the faces of the kid survivors, flowing new blood in their veins.
These gestures have given a new hope to the survivors, making them feel that they might have lost a lot but have gained some too, through gathering the love of everyone around. First nobody knew them but now each one of them is the cherished apple of everyone’s eyes! Eid cards and Get Well Soon wishes are pasted all over them. We might’ve seen many sweet Eids but everyone of the Capitaliites, no matter whichever walk, talk or face of life he or she belongs to, has dedicated this Eid to the earthquake victims as they deserve a merry note for surviving the death they fought with!
So Eid Mubarak dear friends, earthquake survivors! This Eid is just for you and so are our hearts!
