No pressure on Pak team, says Inzamam
Bureau Report

LAHORE—Pakistan Cricket Captain, Inzamam ul Haq has ruled out any possibility of his team’s being under pressure before the start of the home test series against England. “Why should we be under pressure ,i don’t see any reason for that, we are a best team and we will be proving it against the English side”, he told newsmen here on Monday.
He said the team selected for the first two test matches is fully capable of giving tough time to the opponents and undermining it in a home series is not fair. “If someone thinks we are a weaker opposition or we are already under pressure before the start of the test matches, is not fair and wise”, he asserted. The home captain said best available talent in terms of batsmen, bowlers and all rounders was selected for the test matches and he believes the players are eager to prove their individual talent and potential.
“I have pinned a lot of expectations on my side and players and I am fully confident that they would come upto the expectations”, he maintained. He said his team would be going into the series with a positive approach and victory in mind and describing the team under pressure before the matches will serve no purpose but to demoralise it. “Definitely the opponents are in high spirit after beating Aussies in Ashes which does not mean that we don’t have any chance against them” he said adding “we will be playing our best cricket to prove that we are also among the best”.
“We will be going all out to strike victories in both the events and definitely we will be achieving our set targets through sheer hard work and collective efforts”, Inzi said. He termed the series thrilling and exciting as world’s two best teams will be playing in it.” English side will be aiming to maintain the flow of their victories which I believe will not be an easy for them as we are fully ready to take on a tough challenge and our recent track record and enough practice and preparations will help in achieving our objective.
“What I believe it is going to be another thrilling event and it would produce best out of both the teams”, he observed. Inzamam said he was delighted to see English side helping to raise funds and helping the earthquake victims and said their kind gesture will go in supplementing the ongoing efforts for the rehabilitation. “We will also be utilizing this series as an effective medium to generate as mcuh as funds we can to contribute in a cause which needs efforts from all over the globe as millions of people devastated by this calamity still await aid and help”, he said. Inzamam also praised the efforts of Pakistan Cricket Board for raising funds to contribute in the President Relief Fund for earthquake victims “PCB is doing a lot of activities and we will take part in it to support them”, he said.
