Is Gwyneth expecting?

NEW YORK—You’d better steel yourself for a barrage of fruit-related puns, because the rumblings are growing louder that Gwyneth Paltrow has another pomme in the oven (hey, we warned you). In the last few days, two people close to the Oscar winner, 33, have dropped hints that she and her Coldplay rocker husband Chris Martin, 28, may be awaiting the arrival of a little brother or sister for their adorable 17-month-old fruitlet, Apple.
The first apparent blabbermouth is Gwyneth’s mom, Blythe Danner, who, during an appearance last week at an awards event in Los Angeles, was asked whether she was going to be a grandma again, says the London Daily Mirror. “Yes, I am,” Danner reportedly replied, before quickly backpedaling, “Well, I think so. Oh well ... I have not checked lately, but I am a very happy grandmother of one.”
Meanwhile, at the London premiere of “Proof” Saturday night, the film’s director, John Madden (he’s also the guy who guided the actress to her Oscar in “Shakespeare in Love”), revealed he had wished her congratulations earlier that day, reports the Press Association. “She was pregnant [with Apple] while making this movie,” Madden told reporters, “so I am hoping it won’t be too long for a third collaboration.”
Gwyn remains typically tight-lipped on whether there’s another little seedling on the way, and her cakehole may stay closed for a good long time. When contacted for comment on the baby talk, her publicist, Stephen Huvane, told MSN Entertainment, “If or when Gwyneth is expecting she and her husband will decide if they deem it necessary to make an announcement.”
