CBR collects Rs195.1b revenue

ISLAMABAD—Central Board of Revenue (CBR) has exceeded the revenue
collection target of the first four months of current fiscal year and
the revenue collection stands at Rs 195.1 billion by 17.1 percent as
compared to the corresponding period of the last fiscal.
The revenue collection is Rs 2.8 billion more than the set target of the
first four months of the current fiscal and it was Rs 28.4 billion in
the corresponding period of the last fiscal.
The collection of direct taxes has reached Rs 57.8 billion showing a
growth of 19.2 percent and an overall growth of 21.1 percent was
observed in sales tax against the corresponding period of the last
fiscal.
Import stage sales tax receipts increased by 16 percent and the sales
tax on domestic level has registered a healthy increase of 30.1 percent
over the corresponding period last year.
Overall, sales tax collection during the first four months has Rs 84.9
billion against the target of Rs 80.0 billion. The collection on account
of custom duties has gone up to Rs 37.7 billion against Rs 32.6 billion
during past year indicating a growth of 15.7 percent and federal excise
collection stood at Rs 14.7 billion.
The provisional collection of month of October stands at Rs 43.0 billion
with the break up of Rs 21.9 billion as sales tax, Rs 9.0 billion as
customs, Rs 2.5 billion as federal excise and Rs 9.6 billion as direct
taxes. |
