President condemns
Delhi blasts, offers probe help

RAWALPINDI—President General Pervez Musharraf
Monday condemned the weekend’s bombings in New
Delhi as “dastardly act of terrorism,” and
offered Pakistan’s support to the Indian
authorities in carrying out investigation into
the incident.He condoled the loss of lives in
the explosions, which rocked the Indian capital
Saturday evening, killing more than 60 people.
“We condole the loss of lives with the Indian
government and the bereaved families”. “Pakistan
stands with India in this act of terrorism,” he
told a crowded press conference.
Agencies add: President Pervez Musharraf on
Monday evening called Indian Prime Minister
Manmohan Singh and expressed grief over
Saturday’s bombing.
Following his meeting with editors of media,
president called Manmohan and condoled with him
over the loss of innocent lives in the blast.
“President dubbed the act as worst kind of
terrorism and offered full support to Indian
premier,” sources said.
President Pervez Musharraf extended unequivocal
support to India in the investigation of the
dastardly terrorist attack blasts in Delhi on
Saturday.
“Pakistan fully condoles with the Government of
India as well as with the families of the
victims of the dastardly terrorist attack and
extends unequivocal support in any
investigation,” Musharraf told Manmohan.
“India expects Pakistan to act against terrorism
directed at India”, Singh said when Musharraf
telephoned him this evening to convey
condolences,” PTI said.
He said he was “disturbed” at indications of
“external linkages” of terrorist groups with
serial blasts in Delhi. |
