AIOU postpones exams for Spring semster in affected areas

ISLAMABAD—Allama Iqbal Open University has postponed the examinations for the Semester Spring, 2005 of all the programmes scheduled from November 14, in quake-hit areas, press release said here Sunday.
Controller of Examinations, Hafeez Ullah said the areas in which the examination has been postponed included Muzaffarabad Region (whole) Distt. Hattian Bala, Leepa Valley, Authmaqam, Distt. Bagh, Forward Kohota, Dhirkot, Rawalakot, Hajira and Abbaspur while in Abbottabad Region the areas include Distt. Mansehra, Balakot City, Batgram City and Kohistan, press release said.
Students and Parents of these areas could not be perturbed and feel relief, the press release said, adding that as thesituation improves and life restores in a normal way, a special examination for the students of these areas will be arranged or they will be given a special chance to appear in next Semester examination i.e. Autumn, 2005.
The press release announced that Examinations for the Semester Spring, 2005 of all the programmes for the other areas of Pakistan have been scheduled from November 14, 2005 and will continue upto 24-12-2005.
Controller of Examinations, Hafeez Ullah said the dispatch of Roll No slip to the students of other areas is in process in this connection. The students belonging from other parts of the country who if would not receive the Roll No slip upto November 10, 2005 are advised to contact nearest Regional Office or Muhammad Shabbir Shahid, Superintendent (Exams), AIOU, Islamabad personally or on Phone No. 9257029-43 extension 4319 or through email at examinfo@aiou.edu.pk or exam@aiou.edu.pk to get the duplicate Roll NO slip.
To facilitate the students copy of Roll No slip and Schedule of Examination is also available at AIOU websites www.aiou.edu.pk and aiou.edu.pk where students can down load the copy of their Roll No slip and which would be valid in the examination centre.
