ISLAMABAD—Spin wizard and famous leg spinner Mushtaq Ahmed had allayed the rumours that Pakistan has made a big mistake by including five spinners in the squad to tackle England batsmen in the upcoming Test series.
Talking to a private TV channel on Saturday, he said spinners will prove to be very effective in spinner friendly home conditions and we should take advantage of it. Pakistan plays three test matches and five one day internationals with first test starting November 12 at Multan Cricket Stadium.
As far as my return to national side is concerned, after two years I can only thank Allah Almighty for this shower of blessing, he said and added this is a challenge for me to prove my selection.
According to Mushtaq said if people think England batsmen will play Pakistani spinner well after tackling world’s best leg spinner Shane Warne then they are wrong.
There is no doubt in my mind, Warne is one of the best but here in Pakistan the conditions will be different and it will be difficult for English batsmen to compile runs, he underscored.
Meanwhile tall and lanky leg spinner Danish Kaneria said he is not under pressure over inclusion of Mushtaq Ahmed in the squad but he will gain a lot from his experience.
Kaneria said I am pinning lot of expectations from this series and I have new variety to trouble Englishmen, he maintained.
