Over 6,300 patients treated at field hospital, IIMCT medical camps

ISLAMABAD—Over 6,300 patients have so far been treated at field Hospital at Attar Shisha near Balakot and relief medical camps at Bagh, Kohala, Muzaffarabad Manshera, Balakot and Batgram set up by Islamic International Medical College Trust- Railway Hospital Rawalpindi and Islamic International Medical Complex Islamabad.
In all 550 operations were performed at the field hospital and IIMCT Railway Hospital. Of them about 200 were major cases, a press release issued here Saturday said.
Four senior doctors from Cuba are working in collaboration with doctors and para-medical staff from IIMCT Railway Hospital in the medical camps. An NGO from Malaysia is also providing services for relief and treatment at the camps. Islamic International Medical College Trust sent medical teams to various earthquake affected areas of the NWFP and Azad Jammu & Jammu Kashmir besides establishing field medical camps.
The hospital and the camps are equipped with operation theater facilities and other makeshift infrastructure to provide medical aid to the earthquake victims.
Islamic International Medical College Trust-Railway Hospital; Rawalpindi and Islamic International Medical Complex, Islamabad, have so far received over 700 patients from quake hit areas of Muzaffarabad, Bagh, Rawalakot, Kohala, Manshera, balakot and Batgram, Most of them were critically injured and fracture cases.
