‘Mily operation likely in Dera Bugti after Eid’
DERA BUGTI—Veteran politician and Chief of Jamhoori Watan Party Nawab
Muhammad Akbar Khan Bugti has expressed apprehensions that the federal
government is contemplating to launch a major military operation in of
Makran, Marri and Bugti localities after Eid-ul-Fitr. He lamented that
ever since the inception of Pakistan the Balochis have not been granted
their legitimate constitutional and legal rights. Things have worsened
to a point of no return and nobody is satisfied with things in general,
he informed. He said that three zones of the Balochistan were very
sensitive due to their heavy mineral deposits. The Bugti Area with its
rampant natural gas reserves, Marri area, which neighbors Bugti Agency
with its recent discovery of heavy natural gas and possible oil
reserves, as has been indicated by other source, and the developing sea
port of Gwadar, where billion dollars worth of mega projects are
underway with the help of International conglomerates. Talking to press,
he said that despite government’s denial about any intended operation in
the indicated zones, he was sure that government would launch such an
operation.—Online
