Army evacuates serious patients from affected areas

ISLAMABAD—Pakistan Army on Wednesday shifted several serious patients from quake-hit areas through helicopters.
The helicopters which were used for shifting these patients included MI-17, Chinook, Black Hawk, CH-53 and Sea King.
Besides, Pakistan Army’s medical teams are also working in quake-affected areas of Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot and Balakot.
In support with Pakistan Army, medical teams of more than 21 countries are providing medical assistance to quake victims in all affected areas while rescue teams of 13 countries are also working in these areas.
Medical assistance is also being provided to the injured people from Pak Army 50-bed hospital, established in Muzaffarabad.
The serious patients are being shifted to combined military hospitals in Rawalpindi, Abbottabad, Jhelum, Kharian and Gujranwala in Army helicopters.
Several field hospitals have also been set up by various countries in affected areas where doctors and para medical staff are providing medical treatment to those who received injuries in the severe earthquake.
Similarly, humanitarian assistance personnel of various countries are also engaged in providing assistance to the quake-victims.—PR
