Nilofar urges philanthropists to donate baby food at relief centres
By Hina Kiyani

ISLAMABAD—Advisor to Prime Minister on Women Development Nilofar Bakhtiar has urgently appealed to donors and philanthropists to donate more relief goods such as baby milk formula, diapers, sanitary napkins and all kind of baby food for children shifted to various relief centres across the country.
Talking to newsmen here Tuesday the Advisor said philanthropists were focusing more on the adult survivors while dispatching their donations, which, she added, could not meet the required diets and needs of the child survivors. She said these young ones were like our own children, stressing that greater attention should be given to their needs to end their sense of deprivation and isolation. Expressing high hopes that the donors would rise to the occasion, she said in the aftermath of devastating earthquake, the timely assistance and sprit shown by the whole nation for the quake affected people was commendable.
It would be pertinent to mention here that the number of children affected by the earthquake is greater than that of men and women. The government of Pakistan has exclusively tasked the Ministry of Women Development to look after women and children and the ministry is making all out efforts to fulfill the mandate assigned to it, asserted Nilofar Bakhtiar.
