Sehba for speedy rehabilitation of quake victims

ISLAMABAD—First Lady Begum Sehba Musharraf on Saturday visited the field hospital at Aabpara Community Centre and the Crisis Centre set up here for the quake-affected people of Azad Kashmir and NWFP.
Begum Musharraf took round of the hospital at Community Centre jointly established by Interior Ministry and the CDA, and enquired the patients about their health. She was accompanied by the Federal Interior Minister Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao and Interior Minister for State Waseem Shehzad.
Sherpao briefed the First Lady about medical treatment being given to the patients. He said so far 2857 patients had been registered at this hospital. They would later on be transferred to the bigger camps intended to be setup at Fateh Jang, Haripur, Mansehra and other cities.
Sehba stressed the need for speedy rehabilitation of the quake-affected persons including prompt medical treatment. She expressed satisfaction over round the clock medicalcare being given to the patients and appreciated the spirit shown by the entire nation in this hour of distress.
Later, the First Lady visited the Crisis Centre set up by the Women Ministry in Sector H-8 for the quake-affected women and children. Advisor to Prime Minister on Women Development Nilofar Bakhtiar informed Begum Musharraf that a total of 172 women and children had been provided shelter in the Centre. She said a small school had also been established there to educate the minors.
Begum Musharraf listened to the heart-rending details of the tragedies that struck these victims and directed the staff at the Centre to provide maximum relief to affected people so as to minimize their misery.
