Pak Navy providing relief at quake-hit areas

ISLAMABAD—”Pakistan Navy will render every possible assistance to the affectees of earth quake.” This was stated by Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Afzal Tahir during his visit to Pagorah near Batgram where Pakistan Navy has established a 25 bed Mobile Hospital.
Till to date about 70 trucks of goods have been distributed amongst the affectees in this regard. During the visit CNS met the earthquake affectees and distributed relief goods among them. He gave away Rs.50,000/-cash from his own pocket to the affectees.
Earlier the Naval Chief was briefed about the PN relief activities by Commander relief operations. The Admiral directed the PN contingent, comprising of PN Special Services Group, Marines and Para medical staff, for continuing the relief operation day and night in the best naval tradition. It may be recalled that PN has placed 2 Fokkers, 2 Seakings and 2 Allouettes at Rawalpindi for the relief operations.—DPR(Navy)
