Warid Telecom actively contributing in relief efforts

ISLAMABAD—On the directives of our chairman H.H. Sheikh Nahyan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Mr. Hamid Farooq, Chief Executive Officer Warid Telecom, with other senior executives of the company, spent time with families which have arrived from earthquake affected areas and temporarily staying in a building complex in sector G-7 near Aabpaara, Islamabad.
Warid Telecom has set up a temporary relief camp in the G-7 vicinity to provide the relief item to around 136 families from Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot and Bagh districts, temporarily staying at the location of G-7 sector.Warid Telecom provided relief items like blankets, stoves, winter clothings, plastic plates/glasses/spoons, cooking pots, food items( lentils, channas, sugar, rice, tea, milk, cooking oil) torch batteries, candles, medicines, mineral water and other dry food items to the temporary residents.
Mr. Hamid Farooq said, -`This is part of our efforts to share the sorrow with these Pakistani brothers and sisters in this moment of grief. The tragic earthquake of 8`° October has caused thousands of deaths and left millions of people homeless, including children, women and elders." His Highness Sheikh Nahyan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Chairman Warid Telecom has already contributed Rs. 60 million from Warid Pakistan and Wand International each, which makes it a total sum of Rs.120 million towards the President's relief fund for the rehabilitation of the earthquake survivors. The volunteers of Warid Telecom relief centre are not letting go of any opportunity to send the necessary and relevant relief items, wherever they are getting the clues of survivors of earthquake victims in the temporary camps in the vicinity of Rawalpindi, Islamabad and other affected areas.
I am pleased to inform you that Alhumdolillah our first site at Muzaffaxabad is up and running at Muzaffarabad Airport. The second at Muzaffarabad Stadium (where all the relief helicopters land will InshahAllah be up and running later today, our volunteers will man the PCOS.
