‘NADRA collecting authentic database of quake victims’

ISLAMABAD—National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) is
actively taking part in relief and rehabilitation activities by sending
relief goods and collecting authentic database of injured people on
instructions of the ministry of Interior.
This was stated by the Director General Provincial Headquarters
Islamabad, Brigadier Kamal Aziz here the other day.
He said that the devastation caused by this calamity is at national
level, being a nation organization NADRA responded promptly for national
cause.
He further added that due to large infrastructure of NADRA and
acquaintance of its employees with calamity hit areas the relief work
started at very early stage and even at few places NADRA Relief Teams
were first to reach those remote areas.
He said that from the start of relief operation, goods are being
dispatched to 52 villages of Muzaffarabad, Bagh, Rawalakot, Balakot,
Abbottabad, Mansehra, Ghari Dupatta, Ranjata, Komi kot, Chikar, Chehla,
Manjari, Niman Pura, Nariola, Sudhan Gali, Singola, Ghanool, Panjola,
Kamrota etc.
He said: "We used our own infrastructure and manpower in an appropriate
and effective manner with excellent coordination with our control room
established at Provincial Headquarter Islamabad."
Brigadier Aziz said that a warehouse was also working in PHQ Islamabad
for collection, packing and storage of relief goods. For this noble
cause, not only all employees of the authority showed a joint
coordination effort, but also international NGOs and donors groups like
Hong Kong based group 'The Supreme Master Cheg-Hai International
Association' contributed in NADRA's relief effort by providing six
trucks loaded with medicines, clothes and edible items at Muzaffarabad
base camp.
He said that few medical camps were also established at NADRA's base
camps working at Muzaffarabad and Bagh in collaboration with volunteer
doctors.
He said that the chairman NADRA Brig (R) Saleem Ahmed Moeen personally
visited Muzaffarabad and surrounding areas and distributed relief goods
amongst the affected people. |
