AJK Govt to start functioning soon, says Anwar
ISLAMABAD—President Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sardar Anwar Khan said
Wednesday that state government machinery is reorganizing itself for
full-fledged functioning after the earthquake disaster. The government
officials particularly in the presidency have returned to their duty and
all out efforts are being made to restore the normal working condition.
Similarly the reorganizing efforts are rapidly being made in the Prime
Minister office as well, he added. Efforts are being made to restore
basic infrastructure in the affected areas, he said, adding that in
Muzaffarabad, Bagh and Rawlakot the electric supply has been restored
either partially or completely.
However the water supply systems have not yet been restored in these
areas, he informed.
Telephone facilities are also being restored by mending the damaged
infrastructure and considerable improvement has occurred in this regard,
he said.
To a question the AJK President said that he is set to visit the
affected areas today (Wednesday) and will be able to tell the account of
relief activities after return. He said the roads in Jhelum valley have
been restored while in Neelum valley the work is still under progress
