Communication links not restored yet in NWFP

PESHAWAR—Provision of goods and relief to the quake-affectees in NWFP continues through helicopters, but difficulties prevail as means of communication are still closed in some areas. This was stated by Senior Minister of NWFP Sirajul Haq while talking to newsmen. He said another major problem was the bad weather.
He said that tents were being provided to the people living in hilly areas to save them from cold weather. Sirajul Haq said many bazaars reopened in some affected areas. He said that area of Alai Tehsil is badly affected beside some areas of Kohistan and Mansehra. He said government has set up mobile hospitals in several areas for the injured to give medical aid to these people
He said this while receiving cash donation amounting to Rs 50,000/- sent by an overseas Pakistani Haji Muhammad Tahir of Alwahid Jewellers for the quake affectees that was presented by his brother Qaiser Khan at Markaz-e-Mashawarat here on Wednesday.
He assured that government would continue the efforts for relief and rehabilitation of the affectees with consistence. He said solid measures were being taken under well conceived policy for this purpose. He said the nation had to win a prolong war in aftermath of recent holocaust that required immense level of the spirit of sacrifice and patience.
