PTCL helpline for relief work made operational

ISLAMABAD—Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) along with TV artists on Monday made operational its help line 0800-00036 to gather information from across the country.
The information would be disseminated to the Chief Relief Commissioner, Red Crescent, Edhi or any other organizations undertaking the relief activities. The helpline which has been established at the Islamabad Telecom Region (ITR) building would work round the clock. The helpline service, initially available within the country, would provide the callers with the required information such as details of hospitals, phone numbers etc. Besides, the callers can also inform the help line about their contributions and the places from where they could be picked up.
Likewise, people from the affected areas can also dial this helpline number and register information about what do they need in their respective areas. The details will immediately be communicated to the relief agencies for an action. It may be mentioned here that various Television channels and TV artists will actively contribute to this help like either by their presence or coordination with [the relief agencies. Few days ago, in a joint press conference PTCL and TV artists had vowed to work hand in hand for the rehabilitation of the quake victims, PTCL had responded positively to TV artists’ idea of reaching out to the affected people through different modes.
