Anisa visits quake victims at Social Security Hospital

ISLAMABAD—Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Anisa Zeb Tahirkheli visited Punjab Social Security Hospital here Sunday to inquire about the health of injured in the last week’s devastating earthquake.
She also handed over a truckload of relief goods including quilts, beds, jackets, milk, clothes and water coolers to the hospital authorities for distribution among the quake affected people and their attendants in the hospital.
The relief goods were donated by Mrs Sarkar Abbas, Sabrina Javed and Ms Riffat of Rawalpindi chapter of Pakistan Peoples Party Sherpao Group - PPP(S).
Some 200 quake hit people with multiple fractures and bone injuries were admitted in Punjab Social Security Hospital here in Sector I-12, Pirwadahi road.
At present 134 quake injured are being treated in the hospital, as 39 patients have already been discharged and 4 were referred to other hospitals for specialized treatment. Anisa Zeb met patients including women and children and inquired about their health and consoled them.
She said, the October 8 quake was a catastrophe, which affected millions with a colossal loss of human lives and infrastructure in AJK and NWFP.
The Minister of State said, the government has mobilized all its resource for relief and rescue work as well as for the rehabilitation of quake hit people.
Capt. (R) Dr. Izhar Ahmad, Medical Superintendent of the hospital briefed the Minister about the hospital functioning as well as the arrangements made for the treatment of quake injured and relief to the attendants.
He informed that most of the injured brought to the hospital for treatment belonged to quake hit areas of AJK including Muzaffarabad, Bagh and Rawalakot.—INP
