APHC seeks permission to visit quake-hit AJK

NEW DELHI—Hurriyat Leaders have sought permission from the Indian government to visit the quake-stricken parts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). Chairman, APHC Mirwaiz Umer Farooq said in Srinagar that the people of Indian Held Kashmir anxiously wanted to know the fate of their kin across the border and reach out to help them.
Mirwaiz also urged the government to restore Muzaffarabad-Srinagar road link at the earliest and also establish communication between the two sides of Kashmir.
Hurriyat had earlier appealed to the people of IOK to hold special prayers in memory of victims of killer earthquake that hit both parts of Kashmir.
“The quake has caused more devastation in Muzaffarabad and Hurriyat leader would like to travel to know the condition of the people in AJK”, Hurriyat leader said.
President, Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Mohammad Yasin Malik has already been allowed to travel to Muzzafarabad with Rs ten million in cash for quake relief, said a news report.
