ISLAMABAD—Prime
Minister Shaukat Aziz said Saturday, the
initial estimates indicate that Pakistan
will require at least $ 5 billion for the
reconstruction and rehabilitation work in
AJK and NWFP areas devastated by the October
8 strong earthquake. “The death toll has
crossed 38,000 with over 62,000 injured and
these figures may rise”, Shaukat Aziz told

Saturday said a tent city is being put into
place near Muzaffarabad to provide shelter
to 500,000 people rendered homeless
following last week’s devastating
