Tetra Pak donates $ 200,000 to earthquake victims
ISLAMABAD—Tetra Pak has donated PKR 12 million ($US 200,000) to the
affectees of Saturday's massive earthquake which caused widespread
devastation and killed thousands of people: besides leaving tens. of
thousands homeless.
Tetra Pak Pakistan's Managing Director, Par S6derlund, announced on
Tuesday in a statement that Tetra Pak International, the management and
the employees of Tetra Pak have pledged over 12 million rupees for the
earthquake relief, endeavors underway in the worst-hit areas in Azad
Kashmir and northern Pakistan. The donation includes more than 6 million
rupees cash contribution to the President's Relief Fund for Earthquake
Victims which will be added by generous individual contribution of each
employee of Tetra Pak, from one-day to one month's salary.
The second part of the donation includes 6 million worth of packaged
milk and juices which will be delivered through local disaster relief
agencies that are coordinating the efforts.
"Tetra Pak has always believed in being a socially responsible corporate
citizen especially in countries where we operate. I hope that Tetra
Pak's contribution will be helpful in alleviating the enormity of this
