Pak Navy providing immediate relief to quake affectees

ISLAMABAD—Pakistan Navy is standing firm by the Government with dedication and commitment to serve the nation in this time of trial and has joined hands in carrying out the relief operations.
The sources are mobilized and funds are being generated from own resources, this also includes substantial contribution from Pakistan Navy Women Association. A relief camp at Balakot is being setup in co-ordination with the district administration, which would look after the collection and distribution of relief goods. In this connection, first consignment of relief goods was dispatched from Naval Complex this morning, which was personally seen off by the President Pakistan Navy Women Association . At Karachi Pakistan Navy has established 17 relief centers manned 24 hrs for collection of relief goods, from where 30 truck load of relief` goods have been dispatched up till now.
Furthermore, a self sustained mobile surgical team is being sent to Balakot and Mansehra from Naval Hospital Islamabad. This team comprising of doctors and paramedical staff Along with„all requisite equipments and medicines will provide medical assistance in the earthquake effected areas.
In addition one Fokker aircraft and two Helicopters are being utilized for transportation of relief goods and patients from the areas devastated by the earthquake.—DPR(Navy)
