Gen Safdar’s statement condemned

ISLAMABAD—Naheed Khan MNA and Political Secretary to Chairperson Pakistan Peoples Party Benazir Bhutto has condemned the assertion by the Corp Commander Peshawar that as many as one thousand people have perished in the earthquake and the figures in media is simply exaggeration.
Naheed Khan in a statement said that it is the measure of insensitivity being displayed by the military junta. The statement by the Corps Commander is insensitive because the people are faced with the worst kind of natural calamity in the country.
She said that anti-people regime and its officials are continuously ignoring the needs of the people whose miseries are multiplying with every passing minute. She said that the PPP has always stood with the people and would continue to look after the people in these testing times. She asked the regime to take immediate measures to allay the miseries of the people instead of undermining their plight.—Online
