Railways Minister enquires about health of earthquake victims

RAWALPINDI—Railway Minister Mian Shameem Haider visited the IIMCT Railway General Hospital in Rawalpindi on Monday and enquired about the welfare of the earth quake victims being treated at the hospital.
He went round various wards and expressed satisfaction over the medical facilities being provided to the affected people by the Islamic International Medical College - Trust Railway Hospital. He announced a donation of Ten Million Rupees on behalf of Railway employees for the President’s Relief Fund. He informed that relief camps have been established at main railway stations where relief goods are being collected for distribution among affected people.
The Deputy Managing Trustee of Islamic International Medical College - Trust Mr. Hassan Muhammad Khan briefed the Minister about arrangements made at the Railway Hospital and other teaching hospital of Islamic International Medical College for the treatment of the injured. He said so far over 100 critically injured people from Muzaffarabad, Balakot, Bagh, Rawalpindi and other areas have been admitted in Railway Hospital. He said control rooms have been established at Railway Hospital in Rawalpindi and Islamic International Medical Complex at Islamabad to provide all types of information about the earthquake affected people being treated in these hospitals. He said the control rooms are working around the clock. Mr. Hassan Mohammad Khan told the Minister that IIMC Trust has already sent Medical and Relief teams to the affected areas, while plans are being made to establish field hospitals in collaboration with local administration at the places where presently no facilities of treatment are available.
The District Nazim Rawalpindi elect Raja Javaid Ikhlaas, Advisor to the Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Rahat Masood Quddusi, MPA Raja Rashid Hafeez and DCO Rawalpindi Raja Hamid Ali Khan also visited IIMCT Railway Hospital to see the earthquake victims. Raja Javaid Ikhlaas announced a donation of fifty thousand Rupees for the patients.
The Executive Director of IIMC Trust, Mr Asadullah Khan Director Hospitals Dr, Surbuland Zubair Khan and Administrator IIMCT Railway Hospital Dr. Omer Awab Khan briefed the distinguished visitors about the treatment being given to the victims. They were also informed about the relief activities being carried out by the Islamic International Medical College - Trust.
The visitors appreciated the efforts being made by the Islamic International Medical College - Trust and its teaching hospitals for the treatment of the earthquake victims.
