CBR employees donate 2 days salary in President’s Relief Fund

ISLAMABAD—Amid this hour of national calamity where all big and small organizations have joined in the relief efforts, Central Board of Revenue (CBR) Chairman M. Abdullah Yusuf called an emergency meeting of the Board-in-Council to organize and initiate the relief efforts here on Monday.
In the meeting, the participants expressed their grief and sorrow on the current national calamity and stressed for all out efforts for the relief of the affected people and families of the victims.
The meeting resolved that two days salary by all the officers and staff of the Central Board of Revenue and its field offices will be donated to the President’s Relief Fund.
It was also decided to provide a sum of Rs. 10 million from the CBR Employees Welfare Fund for purchase of medical supplies, relief goods and donation to the President’s Relief Fund.
Meanwhile, Special medical teams comprising of officers and staff of Central Board of Revenue and its field offices, having medical degree or previous para-medical experience, have been formed for carrying out relief activities in the affected areas. Two teams for this purpose are going to Manshera and Abbottabad with medical and first aid supplies. Income Tax Offices at both the places have been converted into Medical Centers and control room for all the medical teams.
The center for collection of relief goods have been established at CBR House, Islamabad and the Commission rates and Colectorates at Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Peshawar, Faisalabad, Lahore, Gujranwala and Rawalpindi. General Public and in particular CBR and its field offices employees are requested to kindly come forward with the relief goods in the nearest collection center. Effective arrangements for transportation and distribution of such relief goods have been made.
The officers and staff of the CBR and its field offices are persuading and motivating the public for donations and help of the earth quake affected people. In the process, relief goods worth Rs. 5 million comprising of cloth for the burial of dead bodies, blankets and clothing is already on its way for earth quake affected victims and survivors.
The staff of the CBR and field offices, who have suffered loss of property and life of their family members, have been advised to contact the nearest Commissioner/Collector or Secretary (Admin) CBR with complete facts for assistance in their hour of grief.
