Margallah Tower’s owners, Contractor, CDA indicted in FIR

ISLAMABAD—On the special orders of Interior Ministry, case has been registered against the owners, contractors of Margallah Tower and CDA for using substandard material in its construction.
According to details, numerous were seriously injured and twenty died in Margallah Tower due to earthquake on Saturday morning as it was the main casualty in Islamabad.
In this regard on the directives of Interior Ministry, Assistant SHO Shalimar Police Station Naeem Iqbal has lodged cases against owners of Margallah Towers, contractors and CDA staff for using second-rate material in its construction.
Federal Minister for Religious Affairs, Ijazul Huque has said that the Margalla Towers destroyed partially in Islamabad earthquake was declared dangerous 10 months ago, but the residents here were unwilling to vacate the building.
Visiting Margalla Towers here today, he told that highly substandard materials were used in the construction of Margalla Towers, which culminated into this incident.
Ijazul Huque told that Margalla Towers was declared dangerous for residing, but the residents were not ready to vacate the apartments that they had bought at heavy prices.
