By Saad Ahmed

RAWALPINDI—The residents of New/Old Lalazar, Adiala have urged the Station Commander to take notice of the deteriorating condition of roads in the area and direct the concerned to take immediate steps for repair and and rehabilation of the broken roads.
The residents complained that Humayun road, the starting point of these colonies is rapidly breaking up due to the lethargy of Chaklala Cantonment Board (CCB) officials as numerous requests for the repair of the overloaded road has been of no avail.
Mansoor Kiani, a resident of Askari VII said “there is an urgent need to dualize the roads to meet the ever increasing traffic load.” Raja Ashraf, another resident said that the much awaited dualization project of Adiala Road inagurated by Punjab Law Minister in August needs to be started on priority to provide relief to the area residents who face routine traffic jams during peak hours. Arif Butt of the area said the 24-wheelers plying along the road are fast breaking up the single lane road and if maintenance by CCB and TMA staff in their juriisdiction is not carried out on priority the road will finally collapse.
It needs to be mentioned that the matter has been often brought in the notice of Executive Officer and other concerned officials but of no avail.
Tulsa road, the main artery of numerous colonies is also breaking up due to non repair, said Ghazanfar and regretted the pathetic condition of the road along Alaf Shah graveyard and wondered when CCB would start the much propogated development plans.
